Our story

Our story

Scotts Cider was founded in 2008 by three Scotsman. We decided to move to Serbia to introduce the locals to the wonderful world of cider. Initially we were based in Sremski Karlovci where we produced our first batch of cider and spent two happy years among the local wine makers. As we out grew our cellar and production space we decided it was time to move out to the countryside and build our own space. We purchased  salas 190 in Cenej to become our cidery and also our home.

Our business continued to grow from 4000 liters in our first year to today’s production capacity of 120,000 litres. This growth was thanks to demand in the festival and export market which included:
  • Supplying and running a cider bar at Outlook festival in Croatia for two years
  • Supplying cider and  bar installations to Exit Festival in Serbia
  • Supplying cider to local bars and cafes in Novi Sad and Belgrade
  • Exporting cider to London
The natural apple juice being pressed for our cider was enjoyed by many visitors and friends, so in the autumn of 2013 we started to produce our own apple juice and provide a service for pressing, pasteurising and packaging apple juice. This attracted much attention with clients coming to press anything from 500kg of apples from their gardens to 15,000,00 kg from local orchards.
